Xinmin’s four-year ECG curriculum guides student self-discovery and purposeful career planning for future decisions.
Education and Career Guidance (ECG) helps students develop a sense of purpose in life. Xinmin Secondary School places a strong emphasis on education and career guidance to help our students make informed decisions about their education and career pathways.
The ECG themes for each level are as follow:
Secondary 1: Discover Who You Are, Understanding Educational Pathways
Key Question: What are my strengths and passion?
Secondary 2: Importance of Building My Portfolio, Understanding Job Landscapes
Key Question: What career interests me?
Secondary 3: Acquiring Growth Mindset, Experiential Learning in Industries
Key Question: What is my goal?
Secondary 4/5: Make Informed Decisions and Own Them, Acquiring Life-long Learning
Key Question: What are my plans to reach my goal?
At each level, the school provides relevant ECG programme to better support our students. Some ECG programmes include our annual Secondary 2, 4 & 5 ECG Fair, Personal Statement & Interview Workshop and Job Shadowing Programme.
